Morong Miao village, located at the junction of Jishou City, Guzhang County, and Baojing County, has profound Miao cultural heritage and unique natural scenery. It has convenient transportation, with Jiaozuo-Liuzhou Railway, Longshan-Jishou Expressway, and National Highway 352 passing through the village. Although winter is the off-season for tourism, Morong Miao Village receives over a thousand tourists every day.
Here, tourists can taste the unique cuisine of the Miao ethnic group, admire their traditional handicrafts, and experience their customs and habits. These activities have enriched the tourist experience and injected new vitality into the local economic development.
This winter, Morong Miao Village also reached a strategic cooperation agreement with the Binglang Valley Li and Miao Cultural Heritage Park in Baoting Li and Miao Autonomous County, Hainan Province that the two sides will share employees in peak tourist season.
The Binglang Valley Scenic Area is one of the first five-star scenic areas in China. The peak season for tourism is from mid-November to the end of February next year. The peak season for tourism in the Morong Miao Village Scenic Area is generally from March to November each year.
In order to better promote the tourism development in Miao Village, the village has also strengthened the construction of related supporting facilities, including improving road conditions, tourism services, and tourist safety guarantees, which have enhanced the satisfaction of tourists and ensured the sustainable development of Morong Miao Village.
In addition, Morong Miao Village has carried out various cultural activities, such as Miao clothing and silver jewelry festivals, Miao embroidery exhibitions, Miao Ganqiu Festival, and Miao songs performances, which have enriched the cultural life of local residents, attracted more tourists and further promoted the local economic development.
